Tuesday, November 2, The Cheese Board Bakery and Cheese store will be closed in solidarity with the Occupy Oakland protesters who have called for a general strike.
The Cheese Board Pizzeria will be open our usual hours.

This is very late in offering but I want to thank you all at The Cheeseboard for showing such love and solidarity with those in Occupy Oakland who care very deeply about justice, economic, social, environmental and in general. We know that an “injury to one is an injury to all” (to quote the ILWU’s motto) and when business is shut down that people close to the edge financially feel the impact 100 or even 1000 times more than the 1 percent (if they felt anything at all that day). We know our power lies within our ability to unify.
I love your business model and believe that maybe there is a way to have justice in an economic capitalist model through the WOC model, but if not….I am willing to change to something else.
