You might have noticed that the former produce market on the corner of Shattuck and Vine-- the one that has been vacant for about 8 years-- has recently (finally!) started construction.
Back in 2018-2019, we drafted plans and began preliminary construction to expand the bakery and cheese shop into that space, leaving the original space to be used partly for the retail store front and partly as a shared working space for the pizzeria and bakery. And then in early 2020, we (along with a lot of the rest of the world) had to put our plans on pause .
In the last couple of years we've worked really hard to refine our plans and move forward with this major project, and earlier this year, construction finally began in the "corner store" space.
We're looking at mid- to late-2026 for the big opening! Until then, we'll have a period of time from January to summer where the current bakery-cheese shop won't be accessible to the public. Instead, we'll be setting up a shipping container that will serve as our temporary shop. You can expect some adjustments to our hours and our offerings (because of the limited space, we won't be able to make all the baked goods or sell all the cheeses we usually do), and we'll keep you posted when that time comes for the shipping container to open in mid-January.
