Please join us on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at our fundraising event for Out Youth and Equality Texas.
The healthcare rights of trans youth in Texas are being directly targeted by legislation that denies them gender-affirming care and criminalizes anyone who provides it.
We support trans and queer youths’ autonomy over their bodies and for their caregivers to do their jobs of caring for them.
Help us support Equality Texas, which is working to fight this legislation through political action, education, community organizing, and collaboration, and Out Youth, which promotes the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well being of sexual and gender minority youth so that they can openly and safely explore and affirm their identities.
The pizza will be house made tomato sauce with mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and fresh basil. The salad will be organic beet and carrot, toasted almond, and buttermilk herb dressing. We’ll have green sauce, drinks, and a special rainbow cookie available as well! All of the labor is voluntary, and 100% of what we sell that day will be donated.
Thanks to our friends at Golden Rule Organics and Dan’s Farmers Market in Alameda for their generous donations of produce.
We are aiming to make pizza until 2 pm but in the past have run out of pizza early. We will do our best to keep the pizza flowing!
See you there!
***Update!***
Thank you for coming out and helping us raise $7780.35 for the cause!
Dear customers,
Starting the week of 3/21/22, the bakery will be closed on Tuesdays.
Like many businesses, we now have fewer workers than we did before the pandemic. At the moment, we have more work and work shifts than there are workers to cover them.
Because we’re a collective, this means not only fewer workers to carry the intense daily production tasks of bread, scone, and pizza-making, but it also means bookkeeping, maintenance, HR, and many more behind-the-scenes jobs we need to do to keep ourselves running.
The good news is that we’re in the process of hiring new folks to join us! But that process takes time. Until we get these new workers settled in, and in the interest of our members’ well-being, we have decided to close on Tuesdays to alleviate the stress of trying to do more work than we have the physical and mental capacity for.
Our goal is to open up on Tuesdays again at some point, though right now we can’t say exactly when that will be. But please rest assured that our vision is to keep The Cheese Board open and thriving well into the future.
We are so deeply grateful for our customers and community. We are here because of your continued support, understanding, and enthusiasm. Thank you for rolling with our schedule changes and for continuing to show up for us.
Thank you, thank you.
Here is our new schedule:

Sunday-Tuesday: Closed
Pizzeria:

Yoko is one of our co-worker/owners here at The Cheese Board Collective– you’ve maybe bought a cheese roll from her and experienced her warmth and kindness firsthand. About a month ago, her spouse, Jake, contracted COVID-19 and has been on a ventilator and in an induced coma ever since. Yoko’s been taking time off to care for their daughter, Rina, and the loss of one income and the steep decline in the other is proving to be a challenge.

We’ve established a gofundme to help the family out. If you would like, please join us in supporting Yoko and her family.
