Jon played drums in his legendary father’s group The Johnny Otis Show in the early 70’s as well as with other  popular groups from the Bay Area. This laid a solid foundation for Jon’s future work. His love for African and African-Caribbean rhythms combined with his strong East Bay Jazz and RnB roots have created a unique style Jon calls his “BluBeatz Sound”.
